The Day She Ran

Updated: Jan 3, 2019

I am sitting here convinced that I am still not ready to do this. To put me out there to speak as if it were mandatory. I have so much to say sometimes but through neglect, the thoughts and ideas leave me. I made this website last night, the last of many. I was again over preparing to do something, that even now I don't exactly know what that something is. Then, I logged unto the gram. I saw a friend of mine posted a cake she had made, it was stunning. I inquired about it and praised her work, do you know what she said? "I didn't know I could do this until I started." After hearing that, I had to do the do, so here I am.

We are told endlessly how we have a vast supply of untapped potential within the walls of our minds. How do we tap that potential? How do we know where and when to apply it? Well from what I have gathered, we have to be able to try new things, take calculated and advised risks, learn from everyone- as everyone is an expert at something, make better decisions based on our own mistakes and the mistakes of others, be constantly aware of your goals and do the things required to further those goals. Only then can there be the genesis of a grand metamorphic process.

Our society today is undecided in what it wants. It would prefer if we lived idly with no sense of self or purpose. It would rather we substitute growth and self-awareness for an unconscionable bout of self-depreciation. We admire those who have " made it" but the standard for doing so has been lowered significantly. The young among us seek refuge in the shadow of those who are self-seeking. Those who flaunt the lives of feigned glory and force porcelain smiles for days without end. If we could, only for a day see the insecurities their "success" hides.

If we could for a day understand why they must be liked. It is because they do not like themselves. That is a fate I wish on no man. All these things do not negate the fact that those people are where they are now because they took chances. They learned how to be honest with themselves. They knew what they wanted and understood that if they pushed hard enough, life would bend at their knees.

So in your quest to build a pedestal for others, make one of your own, make an investment in your dreams. Do not die before your life leaves you. Too many of us wake up and for eternity we just exist. We are satisfied with crawling for all our lives. Afraid that if we run we may fall.

So many are not given the opportunity to even be where you are now or to do some of the minuscule things you have done. As bad as the situation may be for you right now, there is always someone in a worse position.

Today is the day I ran. I started this blog. What have you always wanted to do? Why haven't you done it?

Here's some homework

Divide a sheet of paper into three parts. However, you see fit.

What do you want to achieve? Want to start a business, hobby, Travel? Sometimes we have ideas in mind, writing them done solidifies them. Write that down on one section of a blank sheet.

On the other side of that same paper put all the reasons why you have not done so. What are your reservations?

In the last empty section, write down how you WILL do it. Here is the goal. Your second column NEEDS to decrease. Your third section should help you reduce or eliminate the second. When your down. Go do the do!

❤❤❤❤

Go Run
